The directorial debut of actress Drew Barrymore, Whip It (2009) centers on restless teen Bliss Cavendar (Ellen Page). Bliss's mom (Marcia Gay Harden) wants nothing less than her daughter's dominance in the beauty-pageant circuit, while her dad (Daniel Stern) is busy worshiping high-school football along with just about everyone else in their small Texas town. Bliss is just biding time till she can escape to college when she discovers the local roller derby team and schemes a spot among its members. Amidst all the female bonding and body bashing, Page and fellow derby girl Zoe Bell get down to their undies. It's not much, but it's enough to whip it.
