Teen siblings watch their charmed life hit the skids in the drive-in horror treat The New Kids (1985). Directed by Friday the 13th (1980) veteran Sean S. Cunningham, the film stars Full House heartthrob Lori Loughlin and newcomer Shannon Presby as a sister and brother who move to Florida after a car accident claims their parents’ lives. The Sunshine State proves anything but sunny, however, when a menacing drug dealer (James Spader) makes life hell for the trailer park-dwelling family. In typical slasher-movie fashion, Loughlin leaves herself vulnerable to an attack in the shower, but it’s body double Nikki Fritz whose cheeks end up on screen.
