Always eager to bring back the days of drive-in cinema, director Jim Wynorski and producer Roger Corman staged this return to low-budget Poe adaptations, The Haunting of Morella (1990). And thanks to changing times, this take on “Morella” offers more aureole than your dad got to enjoy back at the old Star-Lite. Audiences, however, will be haunted by the lack of skin from star Nicole Eggert. She’s still pretty sexy as a deceased witch trying to possess her daughter’s body, but no magic can cover up Nicole’s use of a body double. Good thing we can always rely on the tell-tale T&A of Lana Clarkson, Deborah Dutch, Gail Harris and Maria Ford.
