In the toothy horror spoof The Dentist (1996), a nebbish mouth specialist is sent on a murderous rampage by the knowledge that his wife has been pleasuring the pool boy. Director Brian Yuzna winds up his creation and starts it over again in The Dentist 2 (1998), a gruesomely effective sequel that hews to a similar storyline. After escaping from prison and assuming a new name, Dr. Feinstone (now Caine) opens a practice in a sleepy Midwest hamlet. It isn’t long, however, before a romantic betrayal sends Caine on a second killing spree, in which the good doctor devises new dental tortures to foist on his prey. Jillian McWhirter helps to make this trip to the dentist more pleasant than any on record--the buxom blonde pisses off her oral-obsessed husband by boffing a very lucky acquaintance.
