With a clever title like The Sexperiment, how could I possibly pass this by in the video store?

Sadly, the title marks the beginning, middle, and end of all the cleverness that went into this film. Director Edward Holzman (who’s turned in such decent soft core fare as The Model Solution and The Awakening of Gabriella…) put out a cookie cutter soft core bore, here. It’s absolutely nothing that we haven’t seen before, which leads me to believe that the entire thing was conjured up on the spot when Holzman declared that he had thought of a good title for a movie.

”Hey guys! I thought of a good title for a movie!”

”Oh yeah? What is it?”

”The Sexperiment”

Howling laughter…

”I’ll write the script tonight…”

It surely went something like that. The whole thing is a ruse about Scott Carson and Kim Dawson who, in the movie’s context, are having, well, sexual problems. Uh huh. Right. They visit some “sexologists” who tell them to take notes on a series of sexual tales in order to rid themselves of their inhibitions, which naturally leads to a lot of sex. Tons, in fact.

And what happens when someone imagines something in a soft core movie? That’s right: fuzzy focus. Get ready to squint, boys and girls. Well, boys, anyway…

As far as soft core cinema goes, The Sexperiment is formula basic through and through, right down to the “twist” at the end, which was entirely out of place, seeing as we stopped caring about the plot about ten minutes into the movie. Find another film.

Nudity Report: Dawson, Leslie Harter, Nicole Italiano-Zaza, Katie O’Rourke, and Doria all show everything in various heterosexual and lesbian-enhanced coital encounters.
