The general perception of humans who seek out careers in radio is that they are unpleasant to look at. These persons present themselves for adoration from the general populace but deliberately deny the audience a visual element, which feeds the natural assumption of ugliness talking pretty. The leggy and often naked lovely behind the soundboard and at the center of La Scollatura (1987) single-glandedly reverses the preconception that denizens of the airwaves are trolls. An integral component of a team charged with reviving a failing station's tumbling ratings, the sultry-voiced seductress spins mesmerizing tales of erotic madness that have listeners tuning in and turning on. Meanwhile, the challenge for the studs and the starlet in the studio is to keep their mouths off one another long enough to narrate the action for the folks at home.
