Daniela Giordano in Inquisición (1976)

The themes and expressions of the Spanish arts are shaped by both a sanguinary national history and an immersion in the Catholic persuasion. These two insidious influences help account for the Iberian supremacy in creating spooky movies that cater to the cult of blood lust and devil worship. In a time not so long ago, witch finders riding their donkeys along the roads connecting Madrid and Seville were a common sight. Men of high mind and unbending morals, these searchers of sin cast out Satan wherever they found him, even if he were lurking within the honey-hipped, sugar-lipped town temptress. Unfortunately for the forces of goodness, the traveling demon slayers had no protection against a possessed nymph so alluring as the one who lends her form to the power of evil in Inquisición (1976).
