In the German drama Summer ’04 (2006), Martina Gedeck is hip mother Mirjam, whose progressive parenting of her son (Lucas Kotaranin) allows her not to bat an eye when he brings his twelve-year-old girlfriend, Livia (Svea Lohde), along on their summer vacation. But when the sexually precocious Livia starts to come on to the much older Bill (Robert Seeliger), Mirjam feels she has to step in. Soon an unexpected love triangle develops between Mirjam, Bill, and Livia that leaves everyone confused and Martina’s mams and mudflaps exposed.
