An intense psychological drama, Le Voleur de crimes (1968) is the story of Jean, a deeply unhappy married man who witnesses a suicide attempt. When he fails to save the suicidal woman his life spirals down a rabbit hole of betrayal, murder, and despair. When an artist friend begins to suspect the path that Jean is on, he attempts to intercede. Two very nice scenes involving Florinda Bolkan’s spectacular seatage distract from the heavy plotline.
