Shots ring out in an Italian discotheque, and when the smoke clears a trio of crooks lay dead on the dance floor. So begins the hard-edged crime drama Poliziotti (1995), a tautly paced thriller about two cops--the cynical Lazzaro (Claudio Amendola), who’s responsible for the nightclub slayings, and rookie Andrea (Kim Rossi Stuart), who’s in over his head. The partners run into a colorful cast of characters, including a cold-blooded crime boss (Michele Placido) and a scintillating young woman (Nadia Farès) who makes her presence known in electrifying nude turns in bed and in the shower.
