Sylvia Kristel returns as the lead in Emmanuelle IV (1984), but only briefly. She still plays the bisexual heroine who has inspired a decade of sticky carpets, but early in the film she seeks the help of a plastic surgeon to change her sexy features in order to escape from a jilted lover. She wakes up from the operation as Mia Nygren, who proves that while she may look different, she is the same old Emmanuelle when she says, "I want to be free and make love to the whole of Brazil." After making love through South America, she bumps into that discarded lover again. He sees her as a different person, suitable for seduction. Naturally, she complies. Emmanuelle just can't keep a grudge (or her clothes) on.
