Any habitual viewer of cable sports networks knows that beach volleyball is the most engrossing spectator competition ever devised by man, especially the women’s division, in which majestic, athletically toned female specimens leap and flex and pat one another on the buttocks while clad in nothing more than bikinis and sunscreen. Imagine, then, if some visionary entrepreneur were to launch a beach volleyball league in which the ball swatters were recruited exclusively from the ranks of the country’s most illustrious strippers and exotic dancers. Would not such a setup place you, dear viewer, high on Cloud 9 (2006)? Unlike the WNBA, this concept is a slam dunk.
