Kelly Bundy goes bad in this gritty exploitation thriller as star Christina Applegate trades her Married… with Children ditziness for down n’ dirtiness. As protagonist Dawn, Christina is a hardened, junk-shooting, street-dwelling teen prostitute whose hand-to-mouth existence is made all the more chaotic after she escapes the clutches of a dirty cop moonlighting as a murderer of runaways. Dawn befriends another urchin named Sy, who helps hide her from the vengeful killer, and of course, young love blossoms amongst the hypodermic-strewn Streets (1990). Dawn’s deliciously pervy profession provides several praiseworthy peeks at Christina’s flesh, even though Applegate’s actual apples remain sadly hidden.
