It’s telling that Vincent van Gogh sliced off his ear and not another more important part of his body. He may have been a little crazy, but the passionate artist wasn’t nuts. Painters were the rock stars of the past, and they partied as hearty as any touring band. Van Gogh gets to dip his brush in more flesh than a peep-show mop boy. Inspiring muses such as Corinne Bourdon, Alexandra London, and Elsa Zylberstein make the last three months of the tortured creative type’s life a little less blue.
