In Merci la vie (1991), a surreal and moving mediation on twentieth-century life and the vagaries of womanhood, two female friends, both abused and abandoned by the men in their lives, set out to wreak havoc on those who have wronged them. As they verge on their greatest triumph, one of them discovers that she has been deliberately infected with an incurable sexually transmitted disease. Anouk Grinberg flashes a terrific set of hot tamales and a beautiful caboose to boot.
