Jennifer Aniston settles quite comfortably into her post-Friends acting career with the Rob Reiner-directed romantic comedy Rumor Has It... (2005). Aniston stars as Sarah Huttinger, a pretty young professional whose life is turned upside down by the revelation that her mom and grandma might have provided the basis for the hit comedy The Graduate (1967). Intrigued that her mother’s former boyfriend (Kevin Costner) might have shacked up with her grandma (Shirley MacLaine) before settling on her mom, Huttinger races cross-country to confirm the rumor. Reiner could have tossed bored male dates a bone by coaxing Aniston out of her garb, but he’s sadly resigned to lensing her clothed in this PG-13-rated comedy concoction.
