For us at Skin Central Germany there are two sorts of bad productions: those that don’t contain any nudity which we happily ignore and those that do contain nudity which we often times still pay some attention – luckily Liebe, Lügen, Leidenschaften belongs to the latter group. The problem is that despite a good cast that includes Academy Award winner Maximilian Schell (Judgment at Nuremberg, Vampires), Barbara Sukowa (Lola, The Sicilian), Denise Zich (Schlaraffenland), Marion Mitterhammer (Quintett komplett), Julia Thurnau (Erkan & Stefan gegen die Mächte der Finsternis) as well as the Schwarzwaldklinik veterans Barbara Wussow and Christian Kohlund, this made for German TV mini series is not much more than a cheesy mess!

Its “story” centers on the underwear firm “Aphrodite”, a family enterprise led by Franz Steininger (Schell) who, shortly before the firm’s 50th anniversary, finds out that he’s terminally ill. Without informing his family he flees with his secret lover, Barbara (Sukowa), to Italy. Meanwhile chief-designer Alpha (Wussow), the wife of his son who long ago disappeared and son number two, Albert (Kohlund), are fighting over the leadership of the firm. After the old man’s death his illegitimate daughter Valerie (Zich) shows up, which triggers additional friction since she turns out to be a better designer than Alpha who sees her job and her position in the firm endangered. But of course this is only the beginning of a tale full of intrigues and backstabbing...

Nudity Report: Now let’s get to the really good parts of this mini series – there’s tons of skin!!! Julia Thurnau can be seen naked from every possible angle in several scenes including some dark full-frontal nudity. Barbara Wussow shows her breasts, ass and even a hint of bush in good light while Denise Zich as well as Sandra Cervik have nice topless scenes. Furthermore Zich and Marion Mitterhammer appear wearing only bikinis on separate occasions. Additional cleavage comes from Jeanne Tremsal who shares some underwear-clad moments with Phillippe Brenninkmeyer
