Most examples of the horror-mystery genre known as giallo take place in Italy. Short Night of Glass Dolls (1971), however, is set in Prague, which adds to its strange, foreboding atmosphere—and also supplies plenty of Eastern European hotties to eyeball. Reporter Gregory Moore (Jean Sorel) lies in a hospital bed, where he is believed to be dead, but he can see and hear everything going on around him. Now if he could just remember how he got there. While pondering his fate, Gregory realizes that his girlfriend, played by bodacious Barbara Bach, has gone missing. The movie, then, is two whodunits in one, with ample naked female eye candy to add skin-trigue to the intrigue. This Short Night will leave you long in the pants.
