Based on a novel by Iny Lorentz, German TV movie The Whore (2010) is kraut-tastic! Set in the Middle Ages, it weaves the story of a woman who is accused of being a whore by a very backward bunch of churchfolk. This being the Middle Ages, whoredom is generally looked down upon...and brave Alexandra Neldel finds herself brutalized in jail, plotting an escape and maybe even a little revenge. A gripping tale of morality run amok, The Whore is as good as the Pope is Catholic!
