HeliCops – Einsatz über Berlin was a German action series that ran between 1998 and 2001. As the title clearly implies, it centered on a Berlin police helicopter. The team is led by Hagen Dahlberg (Peter Simonischek) and consists of the daring pilot Karl von Schumann, aka Charly (Christoph M. Ohrt), his co-pilot and computer whiz Stephan Rubelli (Matthias Matz), as well as rookie police officer Jenny Harland (Doreen Jacobi in her star-making performance). Together they solved various crimes – often through decidedly unconventional measures.
HeliCops – Einsatz über Berlin marked the most expensive action-series for German television (at the time, anyway), but despite good special effects and a charismatic cast the result was often rather disappointing. The crucial problem was that the stories of several episodes were either too flat or average rip-offs of American productions like Executive Decision, Point Break, and (of course) Airwolf. As a result the HeliCops flew for only 36 episodes (and with considerable cast changes) before suffering a serious crash-landing.
Nudity Report: HeliCops – Einsatz über Berlin is already a little skin-classic if for no other reason than marking the nude debut of the oh so lovely Doreen Jacobi, who has by now risen to Mr. Skin’s Hall of Fame. Check out the premiere of her sweet mini-hooters in an episode entitled Sturzflug where she flashes her obviously overwhelmed male co-star. Additional tittie action was provided by Saskia Valencia, another very attractive young blonde in the episode Die Verschwörung.
