Marley Shelton, Rachel Blanchard, Sarah Marsh, Melissa George, and Mena Suvari are the top popular chicks at their school, but they're about to turn away from ho-hum high-school life and abandon everything nice in Sugar & Spice (2001), the debut film from Aussie directrix Francine McDougall. The mischief begins when cheer-squad captain Marley finds out she's pregnant with quarterback James Marsden's kid—the two get hitched lickety-split, but it turns out that's not gonna cut it. They need cash, and fast; who knew getting married and having rugrats took so much scratch? Luckily Mena's mom is an ex-con, and she helps them hatch a plan. The cheerleaders decide to rob a bank! But will their peppy moods and cheery moves give them away?
