A shy but pretty young woman (Jane Birkin) and her fellow commuter (Cochi Ponzoni) develop a nagging affection for one another but are afraid of betraying their significant others in the Italian screwball comedy Bruciati da cocente passione (1976). Riding every day from Lombardy to Milan, Casimiro (Ponzoni) and Virginia (Birkin) discover that they share a similar sensibility--a love of poetry and a loyalty to their partners. But both are also unknowing cuckolds, as their partners have been screwing each other all the while. French lovely Catherine Spaak stars as the woman whom Birkin’s husband can’t keep his hands off of. Clearly it’s a tough call--both women look fantastic in their buff struts around the bedroom.
