Controversial Polish director Andrzej Zulawski goes straight for the jugular with Chamanka (1996), a notoriously noxious brew of sex, religion, and the occult. Boguslaw Linda stars as a famed anthropologist whose obsession with an ancient shaman leads him into the arms of a violent nymphomaniac. Iwona Petry throws herself into the gutsy femme fatale role, allowing her breasts to heave freely in a series of amorous encounters that bookend onslaughts of depravity.
