Comic-book writer Ben Affleck is ga-ga for a lesbo in Chasing Amy (1997), Kevin Smith's third-in-the-"Jersey Trilogy" indie comedy about men who love ladies who love innies. Ben and artist bud Jason Lee have a cult hit with their comic Bluntman and Chronic, based on their pals Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (played most quietly by Kevin himself), who became real-world cult faves after Smith flicks Clerks (1994) and Mallrats (1995) hit theaters. Things are going well enough for this pair of scruffs until Joey Lauren Adams comes roarin' into their lives, leaving Ben smitten and Jason jealous . . . but is there any possibility that Joey will ever love him back? After all, she's of the Sapphic stripe. Is Joey a squish-mitten licker for life, or can Ben talk her into going bi?
