Translated as Thousand Eyes, the taut and racy German thriller Tausend Augen (1984) stars Barbara Rudnik as a young woman weathering the highs and lows of a long-distance relationship. Lonely Gabriele (Rudnik) longs for the day when she can be reunited with her lover in Australia, but because she’s strapped for cash, their reunion may be a long time coming. When she’s not studying to be a biologist, Gaby pulls shifts at the local peep show, hoping it will pay enough to finance her trip around the world. Selfish viewers might prefer that Gabriele never gets what she wants--the busty German’s at her best as she peels off layers for the adoring crowds.
