A goofy crime caper masquerading as a holiday family film, Alles nur Tarnung (1996) tells the story of a bumbling, misguided delinquent trying desperately to emulate his crooked father. Harry (Ben Becker) is a troubled teen who bursts out of a detention center just weeks before Christmas. With his girlfriend Marlies (Muriel Baumeister) in tow, the youngster drives to find his incarcerated dad--a man he mistakenly believes is a mafia hotshot. When a wrong turn lands the son in the same cell as his pops, Harry learns that the man’s no better than a two-bit hood. Perhaps he should have enjoyed his freedom with Marlies while he still could--the pretty blonde German actress is pretty enticing when she strips out of that pesky wardrobe.
