The dark and somewhat depressing melodrama Full Speed (1996) follows the lives of four youths, friends after a fashion, living in France. When one of their number, Quentin, embarks on a writing career, he begins to neglect his friends, as well as his girlfriend. Meanwhile the girlfriend is falling for Jimmy, Quentin's best friend, and Samir, an alienated young man from Algeria, is falling for Quentin. Yes, Full Speed is complex, but the acting and the subject matter ultimately smack of an authenticity rarely seen on the screen. One very hot sex scene features Élodie Bouchez and her gorgeous three B's.
