A vindictive wife and mistress make quick work of killing their cheating man but can’t seem to get a handle on what happened to the body in the French thriller Les Démoniaques (1991). Based on the same Boileau-Narcejac novel that inspired Henri-Georges Clouzot’s classic La Diabolique (1955), the plot tells of Charlotte (Aurore Clément) and Angela (Ángela Molina), who have a difficult time with the final step in their murderous plot. Both women face a lengthy prison term if they botch the plan, but you’ve got to hand it to Clément for keeping cool--she even sheds her threads for some carefree nude strolling.
