Philippe Lemaire, painter extraordinaire, loses his wife's charming mug to a fire and sets out to find the missus a new kisser in The Blood Rose (1969). The face flambé happens at his wedding reception, when former flame Elizabeth Teissier shows up to make a scene and ends up making bonny wifey Anny Duperey tumble into a bonfire. Phil and Anny hole up in his mansion with the mute dwarves who call him master, telling the world that Anny and her sweet fanny have shuffled off the coil. He hires her a bazoomy blonde nurse (Michéle Perello) and then gets to know the nurse's bedside manner (and mammers) a bit too well, driving Anny to off her medical nanny when she catches the two bumping boo-boos. Phil then hires a rogue plastic surgeon to pretty up his charbroiled chick . . . but they'll need a brand-new face to do it! Together, the men go on a mug hunt, snatching up and enslaving a series of juggy young beauties to serve as indentured donors.
