The family of a cancer-afflicted photographer is forced to deal with the man’s stormy moods in Time to Leave (2005), a tempestuous drama from French auteur François Ozon. Melvil Poupaud stars as Romain, a fashion photographer whose ambitions are brought to a grinding halt with the revelation that he’s dying of cancer. The unfeeling Romain responds by lashing out at his supportive parents and pregnant sister––an unfortunate response that puts added strain on the family. Fortunately, amid the relentless Sturm und Drang, co-stars Rebecca Convenant and Valeria Bruni Tedeschi are kind enough to offer a silver lining in the form of supple, unclothed curves.
