A stylish, ultraviolent story of vengeance and betrayal among a group of jewel thieves, City of Industry (1997) is propelled by angry and deadly Harvey Keitel, who is out to do in the rat that done him wrong. Industry achieves an atmosphere of menace and alienation largely through its driving musical score and lowlife locations, both of which come into play during the film’s plentiful strip club footage. Also coming into play at the stripatorium is super sexy Asian vixen Lucy Liu. Lucy brings to bear a passionate intensity in playing a stripper, a powerful slice of reality that surpasses even Keitel’s high-octane dramatizing.
