A serial killer, a car thief, and an ethnic-restaurant owner watch their destinies intersect on the hot streets of Los Angeles in the blackly comic drama Sunsplit (1997). Peter Daskaloff’s film probes the unlikely series of coincidences that cause his three main characters (played by Ken Del Conte, Virginia Capers, and Lou Wagner) to experience a catastrophic collision. Daskaloff’s film is primarily concerned with issues of fate and chance, but he does carve out opportunities for carnal titillation.
