Sometimes, as in the case of blue-screen provocateur/entrepreneurs Jim and Artie Mitchell, brothers would be better off not collaborating with one another. The Mitchells' decades-long partnership in mass-market flesh-mongering eventually led to drug addiction, estrangement, and fratricide. At the opposite end of the spectrum, Hollywood siblings Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen are a pair of bros whose combined labors yielded the eminently worthy and watchable Showtime original movie Rated X (2000). Estevez and Sheen are by all accounts closer for the experience. The story of Jim and Artie's unlikely journey from film-school dropouts to porn and stripper magnates, Rated X, as directed by Estevez and starring he and his brother as the Mitchells, is a gritty, goofy, gut-grabbing depiction of a family bond that was fun for a long time before fraying into tragedy.
