Naïve Sicilian dockworker Giancarlo Gianni--as “Mimi”--believes it’s a secret ballot when he votes against a Mafia candidate in The Seduction of Mimi (1972). He finds out otherwise when he’s fired from his job and forced to seek work in another town. As further punishment, he has to leave behind his gorgeous wife Agostina Belli. Good thing that Communist cutie Mariangela Melato is waiting to comfort him. They even have a kid together, which complicates things when Giancarlo is brought back to Sicily as a Mafia stooge. And when his own wife is knocked up by her lover, Giancarlo adds to his conquests by seducing the guy’s mammoth wife. It’s all a screwball tale with deep societal meaning, as directed by Lina Wertmüller--and with a cast of hot Italian babes that makes all of Mimi’s misery worthwhile. Especially if you like large ladies.
