Remember those nerds in college that sat around and made chain mail outfits to wear at the weekend’s big Renaissance Faire? Knightriders (1981) isn’t about them. Rather, Ed Harris and his gang are misfit bikers who risk their lives while jousting on the Renaissance circuit. Director George A. Romero’s character study is a pretty touching look at a gang of outcasts coping with changing times. Romero really knows how to film a joust, too. There are also plenty of gorgeous gals in scooping necklines, plus a few lusty wenches who unveil their classical curves.
