If hookers have hearts of gold, so do reformed criminals, especially when they play the heartstrings as well as the renowned Bob Hoskins. In Mona Lisa (1986), he plays an ex-con who’s fallen to the lowest rung of the crime ladder and can only find work driving a high-priced call girl, played by Cathy Tyson, from client to client. The two have little in common, but in time a bond grows between them that will melt the hearts of all but the most callous. It helps that Cathy likes to run around in some skimpy outfits that please not only her johns by audiences’ johnsons. Though there's no nudity, Kate Hardie adds to the lingerie party in one scene, which is a modest diversion from her more exposing roles, like the full-frontal one in Safe (1993). Still, this movie is a real moan-ah!
