A demented killer tortures and terrorizes his female victims in a dingy, claustrophobic basement in the aptly named chiller Dark Reality (2006). Shot on a shoestring and featuring a wide array of terrifyingly effective torture sequences, Christopher Hutson’s horror thriller stars Alisha Seaton as Carey, a single young backpacker who’s drugged and abducted by a mysterious attacker. When she awakens in her grimy cell, she quickly realizes that her fate is the same as many of the victims portrayed on missing persons posters. Hutson’s film isn’t strictly about corporeal chills--there are thrills to boot, as sexy co-stars Laila Dagher, Eva Derrek, Jen Parker, and Carol Axler Turner all flash flesh of one variety or another.
