Set in the far-off year of 2017, the comedic sci-fi adventure flick Cherry 2000 (1987) stars David Andrews as successful businessman Sam Treadwell. Sam is perfectly happy with his android sex slave Cherry 2000 (Pamela Gidley) until she blows a fuse when he brings her into the bathtub. To replace her, Sam ventures into the lawless part of the world where the androids are kept. For company he takes flesh-and-blood woman Edith “E.” Johnson (Melanie Griffith). Despite its lurid title, Cherry 2000 has no nudity except for about two centimeters of butt crack on a body double during the opening credits. What’s the point of android sex slaves if you make them wear clothes?
