The urban action flick Rude (1995) follows three narrative threads revolving around homosexuality, drugs, and violence in the Canadian ghetto. Though the segments are at first seemingly unrelated, the common thread emerges in an underground late-night DJ named Rude. Rude won a special jury citation for Best Canadian Film at the 1995 Toronto International Film Festival. Rudely Rachael Crawford stays far from the camera when she’s undressing in the bathroom.
