Melissa Joan Hart plays the fairer half of a young couple who comes to New York City as many naïve and optimistic strivers have before them. They discover that there are a million stories in the Naked City, and each of those poor suckers has to pay sky-high rent for a thimble-sized apartment. This sends her to Aunt Agatha’s rent-controlled apartment on the posh Upper West Side. Will they find a place of their own or have to return to Iowa? More importantly, will Rent Control (2002) be the film that sends Melissa over to the skin side? Yes . . . and no. She loses her shirt in a scene but only exposes some side-boob, which she does again when her shirt is open. It’s cleavage, but it’s the breast we’ve got.
