Girls just want to have fun is the thesis of Danity Kane’s R&B-snap track Show Stopper (2006). The Bad Boy Records quintet––a female super-group assembled during the third season of Sean “Diddy” Combs’s Making the Band series––decided to lead with Show Stopper as the first single from their hit debut. Featuring a cameo from rapper Yung Joc, the song’s video centers on a disagreement between Combs and the Danity Kane singers, Shannon Bex, Aubrey O’Day, Dawn Richard, and D. Woods. While parental figure Diddy advises the budding stars to turn in early, the girls decide to hit Hollywood Boulevard for an all-night party. It’s a good thing too, because O’Day and D. Woods’s perfect bodies look even better under the lights.
