La Cage (2002) tells the gripping story of Anne, a woman who has been imprisoned for seven years for the killing of a little boy during a holdup that went bad. Haunted by her guilt and unable to reenter society once she is freed on parole, Anne goes on a search for the father of the little boy to make amends. This is a sensitive and nuanced portrayal of crime, punishment, and the permanence of guilt. We also see some nice little mosquito bites from Caroline Ducey as she lies back in bed.
