Set in 1959 Baltimore, the touching Hollywood melodrama The Climb (1998) chronicles the odd friendship that develops between a thrill-seeking twelve-year-old and a jaded civil engineer. Danny Himes (Gregory Smith) wants nothing more than to scale the two-hundred-feet-tall radio tower near his home. His grizzled neighbor Mr. Langer (William Hurt), on the other hand, merely wishes for some peace and quiet. Nevertheless, the two forge an unlikely but intense friendship, as the elder Langer resolves to help Danny in his quest. Fortunately The Climb isn’t just a good ol’ boys tale--co-star Sarah Buxton looks mighty buxom as she flashes her goods for the enraptured pre-teen.
