Hookers don't always receive proper credit for being strong, independent-minded individuals, but they would if more people were to learn the lessons of East End Hustle (1976). This French-Canadian exercise in existential eroticism and vengeful mayhem raises the common prostitute's profile from that of a subservient and subjugated peon in the sex-worker chain to a peak of empowered and righteous hard-butt femininity. When a high-end call girl tires of the demands and mishandling of the neighborhood pimps, she organizes her cohorts in the for-sale sisterhood into an open and violent rebellion that puts the macks up against the ropes. Don't expect the gentlemen of leisure to give up their calling without a fight.
