The classic French film La Femme d’à côté (1981), a.k.a. The Woman Next Door, follows the sad saga of married man Gérard Depardieu after he’s cursed with having gorgeous Fanny Ardant as a next-door neighbor. Man, those French can get dour about anything. It turns out that Gérard used to tap Fanny’s fanny long ago, and old habits die hard. Or, more specifically, certain old things don’t stop getting hard for these old lovers, even though Fanny has a husband. Director François Truffaut helms an amazing tale of romantic love that still manages some light moments amongst the tragedy. We especially like how the light plays across Fanny’s fine naked bod.
