Wildly popular series (at first, anyway) about the world’s youngest medical student (and, ultimately, doctor) and the struggles he faces in a decidedly grown-up field. Neil Patrick Harris proved a lot less obnoxious than one might expect for such a potentially smug character, while the dimunitive Max Casella stole scenes whole as the doc’s best buddy Vinnie. Perhaps nowhere near a modern classic, but an amiable and clever show to be sure.
