Open Letter to the Evening News (1970) is a great send-up of hypocrisy. It’s the story of a bunch of Italian communists who write a letter to the evening news saying they’d fight alongside the Vietnamese against the Americans to prove their loyalty to the cause. Then, when told to put their lives where their big mouths are, they of course cave. A satire with real bite and skin from Monica Strebel and Daniela Surina, this movie is front-page nudes!
