Luigi Comencini’s historical biopic Giacomo Casanova: Childhood and Adolescence (1969) chronicles the early life of the Venetian adventurer and lothario whose surname has become synonymous with sexual aplomb. Leonard Whiting stars as the lusty teen Giacomo, who reveals insightful truths about eighteenth-century Italian customs and habits as he romps around Venice with his prurient appetite. Throughout the course of his adventure, Casanova has the beautiful Giulietta Cavamacchia (Senta Berger) on his radar (even if radar hasn’t been invented yet). In one memorable scene, the brunette damsel teases her young lover by lounging naked on his feather bed.
