Not to be confused with a pert but proper teenager of rhyming name, Bridget (2002) is no Gidget. A platinum-blonde single mom (Daddy was gunned down by bad men) who traipses aimlessly through the snarled, humid streets of New York City, Bridget plies her talents as a midnight peepshow performer and supermarket teller until a chance encounter with a retard and his rich, dying dad affords her an opportunity to traipse aimlessly through the snarled, humid streets of Miami and Lebanon. Drugs, sex, depression, a headshrinker, and an ostensibly retired gangster all contribute to the lackadaisical charm that is Bridget’s strong point.
