Robert Downey Jr. plays a writer in Los Angeles who returns to his roots in Queens to visit his estranged and ill father. What follows in A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006) is a heart-wrenching journey to the past, as the story flashes back to the narrator’s childhood during the ’80s. Rosario Dawson has a pleasant cameo, but far more revealing is Eleonore Hendricks, whose hooters are flashed during an awkward sex scene. Mr. Skin may not recognize his saints, but I’m an eagle when it comes to skin.
